Details of PV Installer 1 training:


August 16 - 20 training is planned to be held at SPI’s corporate headquarters in Belle Vernon PA.  Classroom information will be sent to registrants.

Solar Power Industries is a manufacturer of solar PV in Pennsylvania and recognized by the Pennsylvania Sunshine Grant Program of the Department of Environmental Protection as providing a means of meeting the formal training required to become a solar PV company Qualified Employee (as defined by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection).

Classroom instruction and hands-on labs will give time and attention to each of the following topics:

Working Safely with PV;

Conducting Site Assessment;

Selecting a System Design;

Adapting the Mechanical Design;

Adapting the Electrical Design;

Installing Subsystems and Components at Site;

Performing System Checkout & Inspection;

Maintaining & Troubleshooting a System.

There will also be instruction about renewable energy credits, interconnection requirements, and more.
To register for this program, you must accept the following and provide the information needed along with payment of $999 tuition in advance.  NOTE:  As the training will be conducted in ten sessions, excused absences may be made up with future training.  Details will be provided during the opening module for the class.  A final exam will be given after satisfactory completion of the modules and a passing score is required.

Qualified Employee Disclaimer:  Information presented in this course is intended for participant seeking to become a Qualified Employee which, along with other qualifying criteria, also requires graduating participant to properly complete three PV installations before Qualified Employee status may be granted.  Installations of solar PV done by a solar PV company employing a Qualified Employee are eligible for special grants.  The PA Solar Grant program web site has more information: Visit State Website: Click here.
